We have been at The Crompton since 1989. Our aim then and now was to run a local, family run pub with decent beer, quality top shelf products, a good atmosphere, art on the walls and a great juke box where everyone who came in enjoyed themselves. Perry Bailey is the landlord. He and Kate met at Leicester Poly where they both did degrees in Fine Art and pre Crompton days he also worked as Touring Exhibitions Organiser for Leicester City Council. Kate Smith (occasionally known as Bailey!) is also a practising artist who has exhibited extensively nationally and internationally including the Drawing Center in New York. |
